Telect’s Advanced Splice Vault (ASV) provides a lockable, light-weight, metal enclosure for isolating splices between Outside Plant (OSP) cable to IntraFacility Cable (IFC). They are available in three sizes to accommodate up to 864 splices. ASVs mount to interior walls or unistruts nearby OSP cable entrance. Cables enter the ASV through knockouts on top, bottom, and/or sides. They can be clamped internally and where necessary grounded to bus bars.

The Advanced Splice Vault (ASV) is a versatile transition point for splicing optical cables near the cable entrance of a network facility. This low-profile splicing solution provides enhanced cable management, multiple cable entrance points, and a broad range of termination solutions to accommodate today’s dynamic networks.

A high-density design helps users conserve space. The 864-splice vault, for example, is up to 30% smaller than competitive solutions.

Application:
The ASV is typically mounted to a wall at or near where the outside plant (OSP) fiber enters the facility. The OSP fiber is then clamped and grounded inside the vault. From there, the sheath is peeled back and individual stranded fibers are routed to trays designed to store up to 1.5 meters of stranded fiber.

The trays securely manage bend radius to sustain and protect optical signal integrity. They also offer extra space for slack storage. Each tray contains a splice cassette (ordered separately) that features an open architecture to simplify splicing. Installers can average 36 splices per hour, resulting in minimized costs and accelerated turn-up.
