SCP Category 7 (Cat7) S/FTP 1000MHz cables meet ISO/IEC 11801 Ed2 CLASS F standards for Category 7 performance.Each Cat7 S/FTP cable is performance optimized with 4 balanced twisted pairs, 23 AWG PE foam insulated solid bare copper conductors. Each pair is AL Foil shielded eliminating cross talk; and an overall tinned copper braid shield that provides exceptional interference protection. Each Cat7 cable is constructed to create a round and flexible cable for easy pulling and stripping of the low smoke zero halogen (LSZH) cable jacket.

The Cat7 S/FTP cable is packaged on a 1000 ft/ 305 meter wooden spool/drum.

All our custom CAT 7 cables are custom made in the USA. Cat 7 features even more strict specifications for crosstalk and system noise than Cat 6. To achieve this, shielding has been added for individual wire pairs and the cable as a whole. Category 7 is recognized for all the country organizations members of ISO. The Cat 7 cable standard has been created to allow 10 Gigabit Ethernet over 100 m of copper cabling (also, 10-Gbit/s Ethernet now is typically run on Cat 6a). The cable contains four twisted copper wire pairs, just like the earlier standards.

Cat 7 can be terminated either with 8P8C compatible GG45 electrical connectors which incorporate the 8P8C standard or with TERA connectors. When combined with GG45 or TERA connectors, Cat 7 cable is rated for transmission frequencies of up to 600 MHz. Our Category 7a (or Augmented Category 7) is defined at frequencies up to 1000 MHz, suitable for multiple applications in a single cable (just like all other categories) including CATV (862 MHz).Simulation results have shown that 40 Gigabit Ethernet is possible at 50 meters and 100 Gigabit Ethernet is possible at 15 meters.

Unlike scationed- verified CAT 5e and CAT 6 standards CAT 7 is “based” on a 600- 1200MHZ standard that is not being by-passed and suppliers are looking at “CAT 8” replacing CAT 7. Back in the mid 1990’s the standards went briefly from CAT 3 to CAT 4- which was soon bypassed to CAT 5 . CAT 7 – Category 7 Cable History and Information

Category 7 cable (Cat 7), (ISO/IEC 11801:2002 category 7/class F), is a cable standard for Ethernet and other interconnect technologies that can be made to be backward compatible with traditional Cat 5 and Cat 6 Ethernet cable. CAT 7 cable also meets and exceeds current TEMPEST standards used by NATO and many assets of the US Military.

Category 7a (or Augmented Category 7) is characterized as having frequencies up to 1000 MHz and is appropriate for numerous uses on a single cable (as are all other categories), including CATV (862 MHz).According to simulation results, 40 Gigabit Ethernet is viable at 50 meters and 100 Gigabit Ethernet is conceivable at 15 meters.Mohsen Kavehrad and his colleagues at Pennsylvania State University estimate that either 32 nm or 22 nm circuits will be capable of 100 Gigabit Ethernet at 100 meters.

Similar experiments in the past have indicated that Cat5e can sustain 10 Gbps, therefore these findings should be interpreted with care. Furthermore, the IEEE is not considering 40 Gbps or 100 Gbps for Cat7a in their draft 802.3ba as of June 2010. It might happen in the future, but there is no certainty that such applications will ever emerge.

Cat7a is currently certified in ISO standards for channel performance in Amendment 1, and component performance in Amendment 2. ISO 11801 Amendment 1 (2008) and ISO 11801 Amendment 2 (2010) are the official titles.

For many years, call centers have been popular in the United States. The usage of automated dialers and inbound call center software aids telemarketing, collections, charity, and individual businesses in productivity, customer relations, and other business sectors. The contact center setting differs from other work environments mostly owing to equipment and congestion. Work spaces in call centers rarely surpass 100 square feet per employee. They are usually crowded cubicle settings with little work spaces.

The smaller work spaces, which are typically 4-6′ wide, include a server-connected PC that offers scripting, fill-in forms, and other programs required for calls such as credit card processing. These work locations, of course, contain a phone: either a standard PBX-based device connected through an automated dialer or an IP-based one.

Call centers are classified into three types: incoming, outbound, and a mix of the two. Inbound call centers are meant to handle inbound calls for help desk services, technical assistance, and order placement. The incoming PBX routes the calls to available agents. The calls might be standard voice calls or a quick “chat on demand” service delivered via an internet-connected chat box. These work locations are often equipped with a phone and a PC running call logging and resolution software. In an incoming call center, the phone system is more than simply a phone; it must also include transfer services for escalation.

Outbound call centers are quite unique. These centers, as the name indicates, are intended to reach out to customers. The automated dialer is the heart of the outbound call center. A bank of numbers is supplied into the dialers. When these numbers are called into the switch, the dialer immediately activates a manned work area phone. The work space, like incoming centers, is often supplied with a PC connected to the customer management system and a phone. Many sophisticated centers have recently implemented video-based employee monitoring systems.

Inbound and outbound services are provided by blended agent call centers. Because a mix of numerous services is necessary, these are the most complicated infrastructures. Almost every call center employs some form of call monitoring. Call monitoring is often a live supervisor link to an ongoing call. A two-wire voice grade connection connects the phones in a conventional PBX. The supervisor can watch the calls by activating a monitoring headset, which is normally done via software. This allows a supervisor to track the success of a call and gives additional information for training purposes.

The challenge with phone monitoring is deciding which conversations require supervisory intervention. The advantages of adding video to call center environments is that a supervisor can remotely view the facial expressions and demeanor of the call center personnel. This body language can provide key information on call success. This method is also being applied to outsourced call center operations for the same reason. By implementing advanced monitoring, supervisors can successfully monitor remote outsourced personnel, increasing program success.

Another trend in call centers is to use IP Telephony services. Reduced call prices, IP controllable equipment, and IP-based fax services are just a few of the benefits of IP Telephony/VoIP. This also enables for more seamless connection of an IP-based CRM (Customer Relations Management) system and phone systems. These choices are becoming increasingly popular as more options become accessible in the IP PBX industry. A two-pair 10/100 Ethernet connection is frequently used to connect IP phones. This raises the network connectivity requirements for a work area.

Unique Cat 7 connectivity needs

If a work area is outfitted with all of the equipment listed above, the needs for this space include a 10/100 PC network connection, a voice grade phone connection or a 10/100 IP based phone connection, and if IP video is used, a two pair connection that is acceptable for video services. If credit card processing is not integrated, another phone grade service connected to the processing box is also required. If a company is utilizing Category 5e cabling or above, the industry standards stipulate that pairs cannot be split behind the faceplate, and that all 4 pairs must be terminated to a 4 pair modular jack. This means that to connect each of the services mentioned above, a work area would need 4 fully terminated 4-pair outlets.

Anyone who has ever dragged wire through cubicle furniture knows that both electricity and cables have a limited amount of space. A considerable chunk of this area is taken up by four Category 5e or 6 cables. The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) released the CAT 7 standard in 2002, commonly known as Class F cabling.The EIA, TIA, and BICSI are working together to advance the next level of standard to Category 8, which was published in Cabling Magazine in November. While more costly than Cat 5e and Cat 6 cable, Cat-7 cabling has a 15-year longevity (compared to Cat 5e and Cat 6 anticipated 10-year lifecycles), which helps enhance its total return on investment (ROI).
