American Tech Supply carries a full line of plenum innerduct in sizes from ¾ inch to 2 inches. Plenum innerduct comes in several colors and is a flexible, corrugated, non-metallic raceway used to manage copper and security cables and fiber optic cables inside the innerduct and can be also placed into raceways. The innerduct is installed inside buildings to separate and manage the pulling of cables between two or more points, such as a telecommunications closet called and IDF or MDF to another MDF.

The pulling of cable can be done in the same floor or between vertical floors.

The most common types of plenum conduit are corrugated innerduct in several sizes which is determined by the fill ratio which is the amount of cables and cable diameter not to exceed a specific fill ratio.

Singlemode fiber and multimode fiber are pulled through the innerduct with a pull tape that is installed in the factory at standard or custom lengths.

Plenum innerduct meets UL-(910) standards for the National Electrical Code, Article 770, and UL-2024 standards for low smoke and flame propagation.

The most popular fiber optic innerduct sizes are 1” (25.4mm) and 1.25” (31.8mm) with ¾ inch diameter, 1.50 diameter innerduct and 2 inch diameter. Fiber cables with a maximum diameter of 1” (25.4mm) can be pulled in 1.25” innerduct. Again the amount and diameter of cables determine the size of the innerduct.

Using plenum-rated conduit is typically more expensive than riser corrugated riser innerduct due to the flame and toxic fume reducing compounds that make the plenum innerduct.

The cost of labor of installing plenum rated innerduct is the same as riser innerduct as the only difference is the cost of manufacturing the two types of innerduct.

American Tech Supply typically has no minimum orders required to ship plenum innerduct as long as it is in orange color. There may be minimums to order plenum innerduct in colors that include blue, white, red, green and black plenum duct.
