The Metrobility® T3 interface by Telco Systems provides cost effective high-speed integration and conversion of T3 (44.736Mbps) serial copper telco communication lines to fiber optic links. The T3 interface line card can connect to PBX's, multiplexers, ATM/Frame Relay devices, routers, network servers and video CODECS achieving extended distances, high density, high quality of transmission, and improved security.
Metrobility R380 Multi-Rate Line Card (44.7Mbps to 2.7Gbps)
The Metrobility® Multi-rate Line Card (MRLC) by Telco Systems provides a transparent interface for multimode, singlemode, BWDM (single-strand bi-directional wavelength division multiplexing), and CWDM across a wide range of protocols with data rates ranging from 44.7Mbps to 2.7Gbps.
The R380 Multi-rate Line Card supports DS3, Ethernet, SONET/SDH, fibre channel, and ESCON protocols. Data rate is determined by DIP switch setting on the card, or by software auto-detection, or manual settings in the Metrobility NetBeacon® ESP or WebBeacon™ element management software.
The MRLC provides the ability to connect optical network segments operating at different wavelengths, including CWDM lambdas, as well as SFP-based multimode and singlemode optics.
Metrobility R643/2643 10/100Mbps AutoTwister® line card and standalone
Metrobility's 10/100 AutoTwister® provides versatile connectivity for evolving network infrastructures being upgraded from existing 10Mbps copper-based networks to 100Mbps fiber networks. The AutoTwister provides media conversion and 10/100 rate adaption in a single unit, extending copper-based networks up to 100km over singlemode fiber. Now you can achieve all the features of 100Mbps fiber, such as distance and security, while minimizing costs in a mixed media environment.
Speed Flexibility
As a rate adapter, the card auto-negotiates from 10Mbps to 100Mbps, allowing existing 10Mbps devices to communicate over a 100Mbps backbone. This allows network administrators to retain existing 10Mbps devices while upgrading segments of the network as needed. As a media converter, the card also supports mixed media networks by enabling copper-to-fiber as well as fiber-to-fiber media conversion.
Remote Troubleshooting
All models incorporate Link Loss Return (LLR) and selected models also offer Metrobility's Auto-Recovery and Link Loss Carry Forward (LLCF) features to enable troubleshooting remote locations. LLR stops sending link pulses from the transmit port when link pulses are not being received. Auto-Recovery, used in conjunction with LLR, enables the card to restart the fiber link after a link loss event without a costly troubleshooting trip.
Additional features include shared network segment isolation, and auto-negotiation of full and half duplex configurations. Bi-directional Wavelength Division Multiplexing (BWDM) is also available to utilize a single strand of fiber to send and receive a two different wavelengths, doubling the capacity of the fiber (refer to Metrobility BWDM datasheet).
The AutoTwister is available for Radiance chassis platforms and as a standalone unit to provide seamless connectivity with all major switch and router manufacturers. It offers a cost-effective solution for fiber connectivity in copper switches to lower the cost per port without sacrificing function.
The Metrobility® T1/E1 interface provides cost effective high-speed integration and conversion of T1 (1.544Mbps) or E1 (2.048Mbps) serial copper telco communication lines to fiber optic links. The T1/E1 interface line card can connect to PBX's, multiplexers, ATM/Frame Relay devices, routers, network servers and video CODECS achieving extended distances, high density, high quality of transmission, and improved security.
Regardless of line codes or framing, the copper data stream is converted to optical signals for greater noise immunity and longer transmission. The T1/E1 interface line card supports remote fiber optic links up to 2km over multimode (1310nm) and 100km over singlemode fiber (1550nm).
The T1/E1 interface operates seamlessly with low bit delay, and all signal activity is converted ensuring accurate communication within connected segments.
Flexible Platform Options
These modular interfaces are supported in Metrobility chassis. DC versions of the R5000 and R1000 chasis are NEBS certified. The standalone version is enclosed in a rugged metal fabrication to offer superior reliability for the most demanding environments. Each standalone is equipped with an external, universal AC power supply.
Extensive SNMP Management
Metrobility's easy to use NetBeacon® ESP element management software provides end-to-end remote management to easily monitor framing errors, parity errors, CRC errors, bipolar violations, and far end fault alarms. NetBeacon ESP displays information about port type (T1/E1), transmit code configuration, line length configuration, line status, and loopback status as well as standard information such as serial number, revision level, date installed, etc.
Unique Remote Test Capability
The T1/E1 Interface provides time and cost saving features such as local and remote loopback testing, built-in BERT (Bit Error Rate Testing) and intelligent software management. A service technician can initiate out-of-band loopback by using NetBeacon ESP to set the fiber port in loopback mode. For remote troubleshooting, the on-board BERT routine can be used to determine line quality. All errors will generate fault messages for diagnostic action and can be accomplished without a technician visiting the far end location.
