Smoothwall Innerduct is manufactured from High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) and is intended for use in underground and innerduct applications. Smoothwall underground duct offers superior protection, increases pathways of existing duct systems and allows extra channels for future cabling needs. The most common use in  on innerduct is in telecommunications and fiber to the home deployment is placing Fiber Cable inside the innerduct along with power, control and security cables. The fiber optic cable or other cable can be installed by pre-installed pull-rope or pull tape or jetting. Pull tape rated from 1250 pounds up to 5000 pounds can be installed inside the innerduct.

SDR or standard dimensional ratio. SDR is the wall thickness of the innerduct also needs to be considered. Most telecommunications innerduct requires a wall thickness of SDR 9- SDR 15.5 . The lower the number the thicker the wall. Most fiber to the home or telecommunications projects require SDR 11 to SDR 13.5.

The use is air blown fiber also called “jetting” is a method of placing fiber optic cable by blowing fiber optic cables into standard smoothwall or microduct with the use of pull tape. The use of jetting or air blown fiber reduces the cost of not only the innerduct as there is no need for tape but increases the speed of fiber cable installations for the project.

Smoothwall innerduct is used in most FTTH or Fiber To The Home installations along with placement of vaults every 500 to 1000 feet on average depending on the density, geography and other fiber to the home factors. Smoothwall innerduct is available in ¾ Inch, 1 Inch, 1.25 Inch, 1.50 Inch, 2 Inch,  4″ , 5 Inch for standard uses and up to 16 inch diameter for water, gas, sewer and other utility underground applications.

Interior Ribbed wall innerduct offers superior protection, increases pathways of existing duct systems and allows extra channels for future cabling needs. Interior Ribs dramatically reduce surface contact with cable during installation. Several manufacturers we carry have ribbed smoothwall innerduct in various colors.

The standard colors are black or orange, and offered in a variety of other colors in blue, green, red, yellow, purple and white. Sequential marked footage is standard. Custom options, include up to four multiple colors per reel (up to 2″) and pre-lubricated duct. Installation Methods include plowing, open trench, directional boring or pulled through existing conduit.

To get an accurate quote, please provide us with the length of quantity of innerduct with or without tape, the SDR and the zip code of the project.
