Description:
In the last few years, rapid development of information technologies has led to the increased use of low-voltage power, fiber optic cable systems, etc. in telecommunication networks. As a result the necessity appeared of large-scale underground laying. This led to complex problems that could only be solved through the active adoption of new technologies.
Utilization of high-bandwith cables in high speed networks, such as Gigabit Ethernet or ATM, gave rise to the rapid development of fiber optic systems. Consequently, one of the biggest challenges facing telecommunication networks became protecting investments that had already been made by recycling the largest portions possible of the already existing cable networks. In this endeavor the most common solution became the utilization of outdoor access cabinets (like CV1 and CV2). The main purpose of outdoor access cabinets is to provide full protection of the installed equipment. The cabinet provides protection against negative environmental influences (rain, snow, sun, dust etc) and vandalism.
Another important function of outdoor cabinets is to provide the appropriate climatic conditions which are needed depending on the equipment installed. The outdoor cabinets’ construction allows various arrangements of the equipment inside. This makes it desirable to use outdoor cabinets not only in access systems, but in every case where outdoor equipment operates in extreme conditions and protection is critical.
The outdoor cabinets produced by Hyperline can be used in the telecommunication industry, on ships, platforms, stamping presses and intermediate pumping gas stations, heat and power stations, power industry plants, refineries, cement plants, for protection of machinery for outdoor lighting, etc.

Profile connection

Profile connection

The supporting structure of CV1 and CV2 cabinets is a framework made of aluminum profiles, which are joined together by adaptors. The profiles have special ducts, which make it possible to assemble a swing frame or create a support structure for mounting equipment. The framework of the standard cabinet is set on the plinth. Plinth height varies from 40 mm (1.6”) to 300 mm (11.8”), depending on the customer’s request.

Doors and side shields

Doors and side shields of outdoor cabinets are made of aluminum rail-profiles which are fastened together. The aluminum profiles create double ventilation walls. The cabinet is equipped with twopoint rod-latch locks. The door handle is made of zinc and aluminum alloy. Optional type of patent insert is available upon customer’s request. Also possible to create a special opening for temporary cable entry (e.g. from outside power supply unit).

Standard roof

The standard roof for our outdoor cabinets is made of two mantles (the internal mantle of the roof – 1.5 mm (0.06”) thick natural aluminum, and the external mantle of the roof – 1.5 mm (0.06”) thick sheet steel). Between the mantles there is a gap, which carries away accumulated water condensation.

A special roof made of three mantles of sheet steel is also available for when the natural ventilating provided through the side shields and doors is not enough, and an additional cooling system is needed. This solution creates two air chambers, inside one of which it is possible to fasten fan units to increase the airflow.

Application of this two-chamber roof increases the total height of the cabinet by 100 mm (3.94”).

It is also possible to fix lifting eyes to the roof.

Materials:
Frame - aluminum profile
Side shields and doors - aluminum profile
Roof (internal mantle) - 0.06” (1.5 mm) thick aluminum steel
Roof (external mantle) - 0.06” (1.5 mm) thick alternatively stainless steel or Al-Zn
Plinth - 0.08” (2.0 mm) alternatively stainless steel or Al-Zn

Surface finishing:
Aluminum profiles of the framework and aluminum frames of side shields and doors: anodized (in EMC version chromate coated and powder painted in RAL 7032)
Aluminum profiles of side shields and doors: chromate coated and powder painted in RAL 7032
Internal mantle of the roof: natural aluminum
Plinth and external mantle of the roof: powder painted in RAL 7032
In the EMC version of the cabinet, conductivity between each element of the construction is ensured.

Protection degree:
Standard CV1 and CV2 cabinets have a protection degree IP 54 in accordance with PN 92/E-08106. It can be increased up to IP 65, if required.

Note:
Hyperline reserves the rights to implement changes in construction.
