Today's
expanding PCS market requires wireless service providers to carry more traffic
from each cell site than ever, while minimizing the amount of downtime and resulting
lost revenue. CrossPATH® IIe Triple T1 CSU has been designed specifically
for service providers looking for ways to proactively manage their networks.
The
CrossPATH IIe is ideal for use in PCS networks deploying GSM or other overlay
networks to service the ever-increasing demand for wireless bandwidth. CrossPATH
IIe integrates three T1 ports, a V.35 interface, and a 4-port Ethernet hub for
IP management traffic giving wireless service providers a single product solution
for their PCS deployment needs. CrossPATH IIe provides the unique ability to integrate
IP management and monitoring traffic from up to five devices onto a single DS0,
saving bandwidth for revenue-producing traffic, critical information and site
control.
When
being used in a traditional cellular or PCS environment, the CrossPATH IIe provides
all interfaces necessary to combine voice, data, fraud protection, and locator
services traffic onto a single T1 for transport back to the mobile switching center.
Minimize
backhaul circuit charges with proactive network management
As
the demand for bandwidth from individual cell sites increase due to multiple radios
or GSM overlay networks, the need arises to groom traffic from multiple fractional
T1s into a single, fully utilized T1. Grooming traffic into a single T1 means
that circuit uptime is even more important. CrossPATH IIe gives the service provider
the ability to proactively manage their networks through remote SNMP management.
Physical layer monitoring of all interfaces in accordance with ANSI T1.403 standards
allows proactive network monitoring to help pinpoint problems before they become
outages.
Lower
costs
The
Kentrox CrossPATH IIe lowers backhaul circuit charges by combining traffic from
separate radios onto a single T1.
Minimize operations and support expenses
CrossPATH
IIe helps control wireless service provider operation and support expenses by
offering comprehensive T1 performance information. With CrossPATH IIe you can
remotely determine port status, set loopbacks, view performance reports and change
configuration through an easy-to-use menu structure.
The
built-in 4-port Ethernet hub allows you to interconnect co-located CrossPATH IIe
units and remotely manage up to five of them -- deployed as a hub and four nodes
-- over a single DS0.
They
can also be managed locally by attaching a laptop computer to the local control
port or to one of the Ethernet (10Base-T) ports. When a laptop is connected via
Ethernet, the on-site technician can also access the network operations control
center (NOCC) over the assigned management DS0.
Since
service-affecting problems can be predicted before they cause outages. CrossPATH
IIe improves network reliability and helps you save revenue lost in downtime.
Additionally, if an installed unit requires a software upgrade, you can perform
an in-band software download over the designated DS0 using TFTP. The CrossPATH
IIe continues to operate through the download.
Combine diverse cell traffic
onto a single T1
The
CrossPATH IIe permits greater flexibility in planning base station design, by
combing cell traffic, E911 locator information, CDPD (Cellular Digital Packet
Data) and RFFP fraud protection signals for transport back to the MSC over a single
T1 line. The data port can also support messaging or management traffic from other
base station equipment for transport to the NOCC.
Remote
management
The
CrossPATH IIe offers remote in-band management of multiple units over a single
customer-selected DS0.
Designed for convenience
Occupying
a single rack unit of vertical space and with the ability to be mounted in any
number of configurations, the CrossPATH IIe is ideal for installing in the space
limitations of remote cabinets. For on-site installation and troubleshooting,
the CrossPATH IIe provides front and rear panel LEDs, a loopback push button and
a local maintenance port. Test access jacks are also provided for easy on-site
troubleshooting. These features will help technicians diagnose network problems
quickly and easily regardless of how the unit is mounted.
Low
power consumption and a wide input voltage range makes the CrossPATH IIe ideal
for use in any DC-powered, battery-backup environment.
Combine traffic
The
CrossPATH IIe combines cell traffic, E911 locator information, CDPD and RFFP onto
one T1 for transport back to the Mobile Switching Center (MSC).
Visibility
into every corner of your network
In
today's wireless market, you need to spot problems and solve them before they
degrade service, paralyze users, or bring the system down. Any of these network
problems can cost you valuable time and money.
The
CrossPATH IIe remote management and in-band performance monitoring capabilities
help prevent lengthy downtime and speed problem resolution. Deploying CrossPATH
IIe will save you time and money over the lifetime of your network.
Proactive
Management of Wireless Networks
In
today's competitive PCS and cellular business, wireless service providers are
looking for ways to maximize billed minutes and minimize the amount of downtime
and resulting lost revenue. CrossPATH II Triple T1 CSU has been designed specifically
for these service providers.
The
CrossPATH II is ideal for use in PCS networks deploying cell sites in a daisy
chain arrangement. CrossPATH II integrates three T1 ports and a V.35 interface
giving wireless service providers a single product solution for their PCS deployment
needs. The unique Terminal Interface loopback capabilities of the CrossPATH II
allow bit error rate testing to each site in the chain without disrupting service
to the other sites.
When
being used in a traditional cellular environment, the CrossPATH II provides all
interfaces necessary to combine voice, data, and fraud protection into a single
T1 for transport back to the mobile switching center.
Remote
in-band management and performance monitoring capabilities are available over
a dedicated DS0 that can be used for a single CrossPATH II, or shared by any number
of units in a daisy chain. For point-to-point installations, the FDL can carry
all of the same information without occupying precious bandwidth.
For
cell site locations with multiple radios, the CrossPATH IIe Triple T1 Intelligent
CSU with Ethernet allows wireless service providers to integrate multiple radio
interfaces into fewer T1s to save money on backhaul charges.
CrossPATH II
The
CrossPATH II Triple T1 Intelligent CSU gives wireless service providers the tools
to proactively manage their PCS networks to minimize expensive cell downtime.
M-PATH
The
M-PATH T1 Intelligent CSU saves money by minimizing on-site technician vists to
remote base stations in PCS networks. It's extended temperature range and minimal
footprint make it ideal for outdoor installation.
