IEEE802.3ah standard OAM compliant Ethernet demarcation device
Raisecom RC551 is a family of Ethernet access products that provide Ethernet demarcation, extension and aggregation. Carriers deploy RC551 to deliver intelligent differentiated Ethernet services to subscribers both in and out of region.
RC551 family provides Ethernet demarcation to add intelligence to Ethernet services that are leased or delivered over MSPP or other unintelligent transport devices. The customer located equipment is ideal for WAN to LAN connections between a carrier and a customer and can replace Layer 2 Switches or Routers that are sometimes used in this demarcation application. Wholesale Ethernet services are another common demarcation application at both the customer premise as well as the carrier to carrier hand-off points.
Additionally, for RC551-FE management purpose, IEEE802.3ah standard OAM functions are added. They include OAM Discovery, Link Fault Indication, Link Monitoring, Remote Loopback standard functions and some other extended functions. By integrating standard OAM, RC551-FE will be able to communication with third party’s devices and managed by either Raisecom NView NMS or other vendor’s management systems. It also inherits Raisecom traditional SNMP management before OAM is popular. |
