traditional T1/E1 voice technology coupled with Ethernet data
technology.
Voice-over-Ethernet The OptiSwitch Voice TDM Over
Ethernet connection module provides for the transparent interconnection of PBXs,
Telecom Switches and T1/E1 based communication systems via LANs, MANs, and
Optical Wireless networks. This solution provides a high-quality, cost
effective method of transporting native voice traffic from Enterprise PBXs,
Class 5 switches in Central Offices over the data network, thus saving the costs
associated with duplicated networks for voice and data. The Voice-over-Ethernet
technology encapsulates full E1/T1 circuits, along with their framing and
signaling bits, into IP packets of Ethernet network and derive smooth
convergence of voice traffic and data through OptiSwitch QoS series. The
OptiSwitch Ethernet
Circuit technology supports the full range of QoS techniques required to
enable unified Voice and data services to be provisioned over the
Ethernet.
Wave Division
Multiplexing Using CWDM technology, the EM316FE1SF and EM316FT1SF
modules plug into the FiberDriver Modular, Managed
Transport Solution combine separate voice and data channels onto a single
strand of fiber. The EM316FE1SF merges E1 (2.048Mbs) and Fast Ethernet (100Mbs),
while the EM316FT1SF combines T1 (1.544Mbs) and Fast Ethernet. This technology
effectively quadruples the available fiber capacity of the network. For example,
a PBX (T1) voice channel and a Fast Ethernet data channel (100Base-FX) could be
sent together over one fiber strand. What normally would have taken separate
dual-fiber links, one for the PBX connection and one for the Fast Ethernet
connection, instead takes only a single strand of fiber.
