Abesco Fire Rated Intumescent Caulk- Fire Rated Intumescent Caulk- Abesco FP-CP30310-Abesco Fire Rated Intumescent Caulk-Abesco FP-CP30350-ASTM E 814 Firestop Products Abesco is the World's Leading Manufacturer of Firestop and Commercial Firestop
What happens in a Fire Situation? When exposed to the heat of a fire, the intumescent material contained in the Intumescent Caulk expands to fill any small gaps, thereby maintaining the integrity of the seal and preventing the spread of fire from one compartment to another.
Where to use CP310 FR Acrylic Intumescent Caulk Abesco CP310 FR Acrylic Intumescent Caulk is suitable for use in most buildings which have gaps or joints in, or where services pass through, fire rated compartment walls and floors. Typical types of building where Abesco FR Acrylic Intumescent Mastic is commonly used are:
Abesco CP310 FR Acrylic Intumescent Caulk can be used in walls or floors. What's special about this intumescent caulk?
Abesco CP310 FR Acrylic Intumescent Caulk is a single part water based acrylic caulk. The intumescent caulk provides a firm but flexible seal to joints in a variety of fire rated structures. The caulk will not support combustion, and, when exposed to fire it will form a carbonaceous char which expands to effectively seal any small gaps and prevent the spread of smoke and fire. Abesco CP310 FR Acrylic Intumescent Caulk is suitable for use in any buildings which have electrical cables, metallic pipes and air conditioning ducts, etc. which penetrate through fire rated compartment walls (drywall included) and floors. Suitable for use around copper and steel pipes, steel conduits, electrical cables, data and telephone cables, PVC and CPVC pipes (up to 2" diameter), and HVAC ducts. For complete installation details, please refer to Technical Data Sheet.

American Tech Supply is a national Firestop distributor and firestop supplier for a multitude of firestop products and carries a complete line of Firestop Products and Fire Stop Protection products. Our complete line of firestop fire protection products helps stop the spread of fire, smoke and toxic fumes. Our firestop fire protection produsts are easy to install and are approved for a wide variety of firestop applications by Underwriter’s Laboratories. Total passive firestop and 'fire' protection cannot be achieved with the use of a singular product. It is the use of many products designed for specific firestop applications that comprise a complete passive firestop fire protection systems. When installed properly, these firestop products work in concert with one another to create effective barriers against the passage of flames, smoke, and superheated gases. Used is conjunction with other firestop fire protection methods, properly installed passive fire protection will save lives, protect property, and minimize business losses. Firestop and Firestopping is an integral part of fire protection engineering in all commercial buildings and are required by law in most states to satisfy mandated laws for commercial building fire protection. Firestop systems protect against the passage of flames, deadly gases and toxic smoke through openings that are created for penetrations, joints and gaps in fire-resistive walls, floors and floor/ceiling assemblies. The integrity of fire-rated assemblies is restored by firestop systems. Building codes require third-party tested systems to be installed whenever fire-rated construction is compromised by such openings.
What is meant by "active" and "passive" fire protection?Active fire suppression includes mechanical systems such as sprinklers, that are designed to extinguish fires after they have started. Passive fire protection functions to contain fires within the areas in which they start, preventing loss of life by preventing the products of combustion (smoke, hot gasses and flames) from spreading throughout a building. Why is "passive" fire protection necessary?Fire is a dangerous enough phenomenon that redundancy in fire protection is necessary. Having passive protection in place helps assure building occupants that there will be time to exit before gasses, fire and smoke spread throughout the building. If active systems fail, as they often do, then there is still a passive system in place for life safety. Joints Construction joints must be sealed with joint systems, which will impart a fire resistance at least equal to those of the adjacent constructions so that overall fire resistance is not compromised. Fire resistive joint systems are used in building construction to seal joints, and must be of the same or greater fire resistance (temperature) rating as the wall or floor containing the opening which they are designed to protect.
